The bodies of four persons of a family were found floating in the Mahanadi river near the Shani Mandir of Jagannathpur village in the Paradip area on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as the family members of one Ananta Sethi, who had died in an accident a few days back.
Sources said bodies of Ananta’s wife, two daughters and a son were found floating with faces downwards and being tied together. The Kujang police reached the spot and fished out the bodies from the river.
The deceased were residents of Jagannathpur village. Though the reason behind the deaths was yet to be ascertained, the deceased woman’s brother alleged that all the four have been murdered by someone to grab Ananta’s property.
Meanwhile, police investigation into the incident was underway. The incident has sent shockwaves in the area.
