The Gurundia Police in the district found bodies of a woman and her seven-month-old son from a well on Saturday.
The police suspect that the woman, identified as laxmi Singh(25), and her child might have been murdered by her husband and his mother, who are absconding ever since the deceased went missing on Thursday afternoon. On Sunday, the bodies were sent for autopsy. An investigation is on.
Sources said deceased laxmi was living a disturbed marital life with husband Susant Singh(32), a resident of Jada village of Bonei sub division. On Thursday afternoon, laxmi, carrying her kid, had gone to a nearby well to fetch water and did not return back. On Friday afternoon, the locals spotted her and her child’s bodies floating in the well and informed police.
laxmi's father Karan Singh lodged an FIR with the Gurundia Police that his daughter and grandson were killed by Sushant and his mother Mana Singh. "The cause of death could be known after the post mortem report comes. Now the investigation is on and the culprits will be nabbed soon,” said Gurundia Police Station IIC GB Biswal.
