Dead bodies of a young couple were found hanging from the ceiling of an under-construction apartment at Niladri Vihar under the Chandrasekharpur police station in the city on Friday.
Though the identities of the deceased were yet to be ascertained, it was learnt that the couple were natives of Mayurbhanj district. Sources said the duo had reached the city from Mayurbhanj on Thursday and were working in the under-construction apartment. However, their bodies were found hanging in the morning.
A few locals reportedly spotted the bodies and informed the police. Police rushed to the spot and seized the bodies. The bodies were sent for postmortem and further investigation was on into the incident, the police said.
Though the reason behind their deaths was yet to be ascertained, the autopsy report would establish whether it was a case of suicide or murder, a police official said.
