A man was allegedly beaten to death by his wife in Damana slum under the Chandrasekharpur police station in Bhubaneswar on Monday night. The deceased, identified as Sam Mundari, was working in the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). Sources said Mundari and his wife indulged in some verbal duel and later in a fit of rage Mundari’s wife attacked him with a wooden shaft and killed him. The locals on suspicion informed the police on Tuesday morning. Getting information, the Chandrasekharpur police along with the forensic team reached the spot and started an investigation after sending the body for postmortem. Later, the police detained the accused for interrogation. The exact motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained. But some nieghbours said the couple used to quarrel frequently and were in not good terms.
