Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BMC) Ward-26 Corporator Namitarani Panda in letters to the Ganjam Collector, the Housing and Urban Development Secretary and the Chief Secretary has alleged irregularities in the tenders invited by the BMC.
The Corporator in her letters stated that the tenders have been invited without technical and administrative approval and without the council’s knowledge. The tenders have been also been called hastily. She further alleged that the various guidelines have been flouted.
Nearly, 116 tenders have been called like this, she alleged. Citing examples she stated tender no - 121/ 2016- 17 and tender no- 122/ 2016- 17 have been invited flouting the guidelines and this has been apprised to the concerned authorities and the Collector. Due to the irregularities there are chances of public funds being misutilised. She demanded that Collector Prem Chandra Choudhry investigate into the matter and take appropriate action.
