The Bhubaneswar Mahanagar Brahmana Mahasabha held a meeting here on Sunday. Addressing the gathering, Mahasabha president Gopal Chandra Acharya advised members to always remember their fundamental duty and not to be wayward.
The Brahmins should not forget their status, wherever they may be, Acharya said. They should be responsible to the society, he added.
The Mahasabha condemned the alleged act of comedian Papu Pompom in sexually abusing a minor girl. This is reflection of moral degradation in the society, the members said.
The Brahmins were urged to strengthen the organisation.
Mahasabha secretary Subhranshu Sekhar Satpathy gave welcome address. Dr Sudhakar Tripathy, Tapan Kumar Pani, Prakash Chandra Nanda, Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi, Jyoti Ranjan Mishra and Pandit Raghu Nath Dash were present, among others.
