The BJD on Sunday kicked off a voluntary blood donation drive, ‘Jiban Bindu’, here at the party headquarters. Party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik formally launched the campaign. The party aims at collecting 2 lakh units of blood a year by organising camps across the State in coordination with the Red Cross Society.

Patnaik hailed the initiatives of the party workers and said the drive is undertaken as a social service for poor and underprivileged people. Jiban Bindu Coordinator and MlA Debasis Samantray said voluntary blood donation camps would be organised from rural and block to State level throughout the year.
