The Ganjam Mandal Block Grant ME School Teachers’ and Employees’ Association threatened to intensify their agitation from December 9 with a disobedience movement against the new guidelines on the Grant-in-Aid policy of the State Government.
The agitation would start from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s constituency of Hinjili. This was decided at a meeting held here. The association demanded full and direct aid to all the educational institutions instead of Grant-in-Aid, said association secretary Purnna Chandra Acharya. Around 2,000 teachers of 159 Block Grant and 15 Grants-in-Aid schools of Ganjam and Gajapati districts would join the agitation. All the teachers and employees of these schools would assemble at Hinjili and take out a procession through the main streets of the town. Thereafter, they would block the road in the college square and tehsil office gate, said Acharya.
