The Bhubaneswar Round Table (BRT) 53, a member of the Round Table International and Round Table India, took a noble initiative by taking the blind children of the Bhima Bhoi Blind School to the Big Bazaar here to give them a free shopping experience on Monday.

All the 90 blind children were benefited by the initiative, where the BRT 53 provided a cash coupon of Rs500 to each student for the purpose. The children purchased products of their own choice with the help their teachers. The idea behind the initiative was to light up lives of the visually impaired children in a small way, said an official of BRT 53, an association of young businessmen, entrepreneurs and professionals, dedicated to the underprivileged sections of the society.

Earlier, BRT53 helped various institutions and sections of people in Bhubaneswar, including construction of orphanage ‘Rawa Academy’, a Braille library for the Bhima Bhoi Blind School, relief work during the Super Cyclone in 1999 and recent floods in Puri.
