A blame game has begun in the Kalahandi politics over the Mamita murder case as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit Bhawanipatna on Monday. Besides inauguration of many projects, the CM will distribute BSKY health cards to the beneficiaries.
While the Congress is sensitising people in the remote pockets over involvement of top BJD leaders in the murder incident, the BJP is also attacking the ruling party for suppressing the facts.
When both the opposition parties have been demanding ouster of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra, the BJD is asking for proof of its involvement in the Mamita case.
The BJD said both opposition parties are playing poll gimmicks.
“The voters will reply in the ensuing panchayat polls when it will be cleared which party is telling lies,” said Kalahandi BJD youth wing president Aditya Nanda.
Senior Congress leader Bhakta Charan Das has asked the citizens for a two-minute silence on Sunday over the Mamita murder case and appealed to them to boycott the CM’s programme for one hour on Monday naming it as “Janta curfew”.
Kalahandi BJP vice-president Badri Narayan Pattnaik dared the CM that while visiting Kalahandi let him declare that Minister Mishra is innocent in connection with the Mamita episode. “The BJP has been demanding dismissal of Minister Mishra and it will continue its demand till he resigns from the post,” said Pattnaik.
