Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma on Sunday had to face stiff protests from Youth Congress activists in his constituency, Brahmagiri.
Sources said Youth Congress activists jumped before the Minister’s carcade at Piridipur under Krushna Prasad block and waved black flags before the police personnel accompanying the Minister whisked them away.
They also shouted slogans and alleged that during Dasburma’s tenure there has been no development in any sphere. The Minister was on his way to Satpada. later, the police detained three Congress activists, including the Brahmagiri Congress youth wing president.
Earlier twice, similar protests had greeted Dasburma in his constituency. Notably, a couple of months before, at the Alarnath College, a chair had been thrown at Dasburma which had missed him by a whisker. Irate supporters of the Minister had severely roughed up the chair thrower.
