BJYM seeks White Paper on jobs during 14 years

The State unit of the BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Saturday demanded Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to come out with a White Paper on creation of employment potential during the last 14 years of his regime.

Dubbing the Odisha Youth Policy-2013 of the BJD Government as “youth defraud policy”, BJYM State president Umakanta Patnaik alleged that nothing concrete was done by Chief Minister Patnaik to provide employment and other infrastructural facilities to the youths for their growth since his coming to power. The youth policy is nothing but a “freebie policy” by the BJD Government to woo the youths ahead of the elections, he said, after the first executive meeting of the BJYM here.

During the present State Government, unemployment problem has hit the youth hard with around nine lakh educated job seekers registering their names with the employment exchanges. Besides lakhs of youth are out of the live register of the employment exchanges, he said and dared the State Government to make public through a White Paper as to the exact number of jobs provided and employment potential created during the last 14 years.

He regretted that due to lack of any definite policy “dadan” was still prevalent in the State and a large number of young men and women were migrating to other States seeking job.

Stating that lakhs of depositors were victim of the fraudulent chit fund companies, Patnaik alleged that the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers were responsible for the multi-crore scam as they had encouraged the Non-Banking Financial Organisations to perpetrate indiscriminate fraud.

Since some of the Ministers, ruling BJD MlAs and leaders had nexus with the chit fund companies, Patnaik said that the BJYM State executive had decided to bring out a “Black Paper” on chit fund scam soon.

He demanded that the Government should refund the sums to the poor depositors immediately and make public the names of the tainted Ministers as far as chit fund scam was concerned.

Giving details of the resolutions adopted, Patnaik said that the focus of the BJYM State executive was to launch a statewide membership drive and inform the anti-people and the anti-youth policies of corrupt BJD Government in the State and the weak and tainted Congress led UPA Government at the Center.

He said the BJYM would highlight unemployment situation, failure to check inflation, devaluation of rupee, large scale corruption and national security.

It was also decided to take the Modi message to the youth and attract them to the party fold to ensure furtherance of the BJP prospect in the 2014 general elections and take the social media route to sensitise the people, he said.

The meeting was attended by State BJP president KV Singh Deo, MP Dharmendra Pradhan and leaders Nayan Mohanty, Manmohan Samal, Biswabhushan Harichandan, Prasanna Mishra, BYJM general secretary Tankadhar Tripathy  and State and district Morcha office bearers.
