The Mayurbhanj unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Wednesday evening held a torch procession here against what they described as the BJD’s “dark regime”.

The procession of BJYM workers raising slogans passed through the major roads of the town and culminated at Biju Patnaik Chowk, where the party activists burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The programme was led by BJYM district president Kumar Mangalam, general secretary Nikam Kumar, vice-president BhabaniSankar Sahu and media cell coordinator Uttam Kumar Dash.

The BJYM on the day held torch processions at Rairangpur, Karanjia and Udala, the other three important towns of the district. From January 12 to 23, Yuva Sankalp Samaveshs would also be organised in all Zilla Parishad zones of the district, BJYM leaders announced.
