The Covid-19 lockdown has caused shortage of blood needed for treatment of critical patients. For this, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national chairperson Poonam Mahajan has appealed to the youths to donate blood.

The BJYM State unit, taking Mahajan’s appeal seriously, has organised a number of blood donation camps under the leadership of State president Tankadhar Tripathy and collected 300 units of blood maintaining the required social distancing.

On the first day itself, as many 70 youths including BJYM members came forward and donated blood.

The BJYM has also set up Helpline No-7878 692020 and requested youths to come forward and donate blood. The programme would be continued in the coming days, said Tripathy.
