The Ganjam district Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) gheraoed the Superintendent of Police (SP) office here on Monday in protest against the manhandling of Morcha and ABVP activists by the police during the students’ union elections on Saturday.
Hundreds of activists held a bike rally, shouting slogans against the police and the district administration.
The Morcha alleged that the police have intentionally targeted the activists; submitted a memorandum to the Brahmapur SP and demanded action against the concerned police officials.
Among others, Sidhanta Gangadeo, N Rajendra Kumar, Bikash Panigrahi, Sisir Padhy, Sumil Sahu, Pravat Sadangi, l Mohan Dash, Siva Patro, Rajesh Sahu and Dharani Dhar Behera were present.
