Hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJPYM) members on Monday went on a rampage here pulling down the posters of BJD Rajya Sabha member and actor Anubhav Mohanty in protest against his alleged involvement in duping investors in Oscar, a chit fund company floated by film producer Prabhash Rout.
The BJP youth activists also burnt effigies of another actor and BJD MP Siddhant Mohapatra, actor and MlA Akash Das-Nayak and comedian and BJD political leader Tattwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pom Pom and veteran actor Uttam Mohanty.
Demanding their arrests, the BJPYM activists staged a demonstration at the Badambadi bus terminus. BJP youth leader Subrat lenka said his party would up its ante against the actor-cum-BJD leaders, who are involved in duping the public of their hard-earned money.
Arrested Prabhash Rout has reportedly told policemen during interrogation that several actors of the Odia film industry were working as his brand ambassadors in his endeavour to launch his chit fund company. Apart from their signed amounts, many actors have also received costly flats and vehicles from Rout, sources said.
