BJP youth wing members burnt an effigy of Nimapara BJD MlA Samir Ranjan Dash here after a video in which Dash was seen allegedly using obscene language against some people over the delay in road work went viral in social media.
Those who participated in the protest included MilanMukhi, Manas Pradhan, Tapan Jyoti Bariha, Stalin Das, Susant Swain and Basudev Behera.
The Nimapara-Pipili road was cut off at the Garapada drainage site as the diversion road was submerged due to heavy rains. The inhabitants had asked MlA Dash about the delay in the work by the contractor and as to when the bridge work would be completed. This led to an altercation during which Dash allegedly used obscene languages.
