The BJP Mahila Morcha on Saturday demanded immediate arrest of the chairman of Sai Krupa Residential College on charges of abusing modesty of young girls studying in the college.
Nearly hundred women activists barged into the college premises and ransacked college office and classrooms demanding arrest of chairman Arnada Prasad Mohanty.
“Women are being exploited everywhere under Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government. The young minds here in the college have not also been spared. We demand the chairman be arrested soon and he be severely punished,” said Simantini Jena, the president of State unit of the Mahila Morcha.
Terming the incident as shameful and inexcusable, Jena also demanded that bail order of college principal Tushar Mohanty be rejected. Notably, Mohanty managed to get bail on the same day he was arrested two days ago.
The matter of alleged torture and abuse came to fore on December 15 after several girls started leaving their hostel. Aggrieved parents lodged a police complaint the same day.
