The BJP has welcomed the High Court’s direction to the State Government for submission of the investigation report of the Taskforce on land and house allotment scam in a closed envelope.
BJP spokesperson Samir Mohanty said the Government is scared of a CBI probe into the scam as several ruling party leaders and bureaucrats were involved in it. “Though we had demanded a discussion on the issue in the State Assembly, the ruling party didn’t allow the House to run smoothly in order to avoid the Oppositions’ attack,” said Mohanty.
As the State has been trying to conceal the Taskforce report, Mohanty said, the court directed the State to submit it within two weeks. Surprisingly, the State has not taken any step against the defaulters though the Taskforce has already submitted the report one and a half months ago, he added. “It’s indeed a welcoming step by the High Court, which has now compelled the scared Government to submit the report,” said Mohanty.
