BJP urges Governor for Mayor Jena's removal

The issues of the high profile ‘sex scandal’ and suspicious death of engineering student Asutosh Mohanty alias Rishi involving city Mayor and ruling BJD leader Ananta Narayan Jena reached the Raj Bhavan on Friday with BJP leaders meeting Governor SC Jamir and demanding Jena’s removal for a fair probe into the incidents and alleging that the State Government was shielding the Mayor.

After being denied permission to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to hand over what they called certain evidences against the Mayor, a delegation of BJP leaders headed by State unit president Basanta Panda said, “We have drawn attention of the Governor on the Odisha Government’s inaction on the coldblooded murder of an engineering student which is directly linked to a sex video circulated in the media.”

The BJP in its memorandum to the Governor claimed that there are allegations that engineering student Rishi, who was in possession of the sex video, was murdered in a planned manner.

“There were several clinching evidences to establish that the engineering student did not die an unnatural death,” the party said, adding, “It was most probably the result of a planned execution of murder of the student. Since the Mayor is close to the Chief Minister, the police are not doing proper investigation,” the memorandum read.

“Hence, the murder mystery of the engineering student needs to be solved and guilty must be brought to book. The link between the sex video and the planned murder must be investigated,” it stated.

Meanwhile, the two friends of Rishi who had on Thursday told the media that there is a link between the sex clip and the death of Rishi on Friday said they would reveal everything only to Commissioner of Police YB Khurania if security is ensured for them.
