In protest against various irregularities committed in the Shreemandir at Puri, the BJP will on Tuesday launch a campaign of lighting diyas (earthen lamps) and burning effigies of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Law Minister Pratap Jena in front of Jagannath temples across the State. “Non-opening of the Shreemandir door, stalling of daily rituals and depriving devotees of Darshsan of the Trinity on December 28 are very disappointing. There were managerial disturbances marked during Nabakalebar and Niladribija earlier. Instead of taking action against culprits, the State Government is protecting them,” alleged BJP vice- president Sameer Mohanty. Alleging further that the State Government is involved in Daru fixing, missing of Ratna Bhandar keys and stealing of gold from Hundi, Mohanty said BJP activists would light diyas and burn effigies of the CM and the Law Minister in front of Jagannath Temple.
