The BJP has declared to go on a State wide protest demanding CBI probe and resignation of Minister Arun Sahoo alleging his connection in the sensitive Pari murder case.
The State ruling party has called off the Assembly session abruptly to avoid further discussion on the Pari murder issue, BJP State president Samir Mohanty said in a media briefing at Keonjhar.
"We don’t rely on the SIT inquiry ordered by the State Government and we demand strict action in this matter by getting it investigated by the CBI," he added.
There are reports of 5,523 missing cases in the State but hardly 10 percent cases have been traced out. Child and human trafficking for body organs and bonded labour is increasing for which mysterious death of the five-year-old Pari in Nayagarh should not be taken lightly, another BJP leader Satyabrata Panda alleged.
The Congress and BJD have joined hands to suppress the Pari murder case, the party leaders alleged. The State has failed in maintaining law and order in last few years for which instances of abduction of Malkangiri Collector, Bebina murdercase, Naxal crimes, child missing cases are only examples of deteriorating situation, they alleged.
Hence, the party will hold protest rallies in all panchayats before December 25. BJP leaders Mohan Majhi, Ananta Nayak, Sukesi Oram, Ansuman Sabuja Mohanta,Navin Ram,Bhawani Naik, Pruthwiraj Kuanr and others were present in the Press meet.
However, Keonjhar Congress district president Biplab Mishra described the BJP's raising the Pari issue as a ploy to distract the public from the farmers issue and increasing price hike of essential food commodities across the country and State.
