The State BJP on Tuesday announced to frame a chargesheet against the State Government for its commissions and omissions and all round failure by end of August next.
Addressing a Press conference here after a day-long brain storming session of the State office bearers and presidents of 34 organisational districts at the State party headquarters here, general secretary and chief spokesperson of the party Suresh Pujari alleged that inefficiency and apathy of the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government had led to anarchy in Odisha.
“During the rule of the Naveen Patnaik Government, people have suffered a lot in all sectors as the law and order has deteriorated to the lowest ebb with cases of rape, murder and crime against women having increased. In the use of fire arms by miscreants, Odisha surpassed even Bihar,” he said.
The office bearers’ meeting was held under the chairmanship of BJP State unit president KV Singh Deo in presence of the State pravari Arun Singh to take stock of the current political, social, economic and law and order situation of the State.
Slamming both the BJD Government in State and the Congress led UPA Government at the Center, Pujari said that both the Governments were misleading the people with several ineffective announcements. “Both have formed a secret agenda to loot the people. The multi-crore mining scam, coal gate and chit fund scams have exposed their unholy nexus,” he said.
Alleging that corruption has reached its zenith in the BJD regime, the former State BJP president said that the municipalities had become an earning source for BJD party workers. The corruption and maladministration has jolted the basic services of development of roads, drinking water supply, electricity and sanitation etc, he said. Stating that health services are in disarray with dengue and malaria having gripped the State, particularly the urban areas with dismal hygiene and sanitation situation, he alleged that little is being done to restore the health system. Pujari also alleged that due to lack of foresight and ineffective policies of the BJD Government, big ticket investments are gradually dissociating them from the State.
Alleging that the farm sector has been neglected in last 12 years, Pujari maintained that though irrigation sector had been with the Chief Minister, the State witnessed no increase in irrigation coverage. Even farmers are not provided with seeds, fertilisers and required agricultural inputs, he said. “Instead fake, adulterated fertilizers and substandard seeds are being provided to farmers,” he charged.
Pujari said that the party has decided to prepare a blueprint to translate the Modi sutra in letter and spirit and go to the people at the grassroots and highlight the failures of both the State and the Central Governments. “A three month calendar would be prepared from August to organize rally and demonstration from block to State levels,” he said, adding the BJP would organise a State-level rally in October next.
