BJP to field sizable numbers of youth in general elections

The BJP would field a sizable number of youths in the forthcoming general elections, said the party’s national Yuva Morcha president Anurag Thakur here on Friday, asserting that the BJP would form the next Government at the Centre bagging 272 plus seats.

Thakur told this to reporters after addressing youth and student leaders, particularly the “campus ambassadors”, who, he said, want to see Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister. However, he dodged a query whether the BJP has earmarked any percentage for youths as party candidates. Thakur was here to attend the BCCI working committee meeting as a member.

He said the BJP along with its allies would fare well in the elections throughout the country, including Odisha. He slammed the BJD Government in Odisha for doing nothing for youth during its regime. People are restless and want a Congress-free India and BJD-free Odisha. On BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Thakur said it is a shame that a Chief Minister cannot speak the State’s language. A Chief Minister who does not speak Odia and understand the language cannot solve the problem of Odisha, he said.
