The BJP State unit on Sunday decided to complete its organisational elections by December this year.
A decision to this effect was taken at the party’s core committee meeting held at the party State headquarters here.
The meeting was attended by several leaders, including BJP State president KV Singh Deo, State in-charge Arun Singh, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Bijay Mohapatra.
The meeting also expressed its deep concern over the farmers’ suicide and decried the State Government’s negligence in tackling the drought situation.
“Even as the State Government announced a drought package, the farmers are committing suicides. The farmers lost hope from the Government after the moneylenders chided them repeatedly,” Arun Singh told reporters after the meeting.
Dharmendra Pradhan also criticised the Government for failing to submit an official memorandum to the Centre to get Central assistance.
The meeting also deliberated on the political scenario and party organisational structure of the party in the State.
