Reiterating its demand for Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s resignation in the wake of Shah Commission’s “revelations” against his Government’s involvement in the mining scam, the BJP on Sunday warned that it would resort to agitation at district headquarters if he does not step down soon.

“The Shah Commission report has established that the Central and State Governments have hands in the Rs 60,000-crore mining scam in the State. Hence, the CBI should be entrusted to conduct a free and fair probe and the Chief Minister should resign immediately,” BJP State president Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo said in a Press release.

If the Chief Minister remains silent over the scam in order to protect himself, the BJP would stage agitations at the district headquarters, he warned.
