A 15-member BJP team led by State president KV Singh Deo visited Renjda railway siding in Sundargarh district on Tuesday and inspected the unclaimed iron ores stacked there.
Sing Deo told reporters that the allegation made by Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram that tonnes of illegally-mined iron ores kept hidden there was true.
Thereafter, Oram, in a letter, urged Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to conduct an investigation into the matter.
“We found iron ores six inches under the ground. The allegation made by Oram is 100 per cent true,” said Singh Deo.
The team would divulge its findings before the Media in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, Singh Deo said.
The team included Brajarajnagar MlA Radharani Panda, former Minister Manmohan Samal and Jaynarayan Mishra.
CITU supporters opposed the BJP team during its visit to the site. After intervention of police, the team could visit the spot and drew some samples from the spot after manual
digging.
