Even thought the Union Government has provided adequate funds to Odisha under different pro-people schemes, common men have been deprived of basic facilities only due to non-execution of such schemes by the Naveen Patnaik-led Government in the State.

BJP State president Basanta Panda made this allegation at a Press Conference held here on Saturday ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s June 2 visit.

Panda said the Prime Minster would place records of plans, programmes and achievements last the 26 months before the public here on June 2.

The State Government due its inertia and incapability  failed miserable  to utilise the central fund and deliver the desired result, alleged Basanta Panda, the president of the state unit BJP coming down heavily in the state government .

He further alleged that while there is a scope to include 3.2 crore people in the NFSA, only 78 per cent of the people have so far been included in it. Only two per cent people are getting piped water and 41 per cent of households have no electricity.

The Centre has introduced various schemes to provide pucca houses for homeless, piped water supply and toilet facilities to each household and uninterrupted quality power supply to each family, he claimed.

He said the Modi Government is also committed to develop rail connectivity, NHs and waterways across the country.

He alleged that Central assistances amounting to `1,700 crore have remained unspent due to inefficiency of the State Government.
