The BJP alleged that Koraput MP Jhinna Hikka has provided false information regarding his educational qualification in his nomination papers filed during the 2009 and 2014 general elections. Hikka however rubbished the charge.
At a Press meet held here, BJP state general secretary Bhrugu Boxipatro alleged that MP Hikka has mentioned himself only as a graduate while filing nomination for laxmipur Assembly constituency in 2009. But after winning from laxmipur, his qualification in Government website was shown as BA, llB, he charged.
Simultaneously, while filing nomination for Koraput Parliamentary Constituency in 2014, Hikka mentioned his educational qualification to be BA llM whereas after winning the seat his qualification in the Government website was mentioned as MA llM, MJMC, said Boxipatro.
“If during his 2009-14 tenure, the MlA was going to the Assembly, how he could complete his llM study in regular mode,” questioned Boxipatro.
He demanded Hikka’s resignation as MP and urged BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to dismiss him from the party.
On the contrary, Hikka condemned the allegations, saying that he was ready to face any kind of inquiry.
