BJP skips anti-VAT demo in JSpur

Published on:

The BJP seems not to have constituted a strong base in Jagatsingpur district.

It has been evident from the fact that party functionaries here didn’t organise any protest meeting even as the State unit had asked all district units to hold protest meetings against the State Government’s VAT-hike on petrol and diesel decision. The BJP had called for the statewide agitation in its attempt to blame the Naveen Patnaik Government as anti-poor when the Modi Government has decreased petrol prices by Rs 13 and diesel prices by Rs 9.17 after it came to power at the Center.

BJP district president Upendra Biswal admitted that the party did not organise a demonstration due to many reasons and expressed unhappiness for the same.
