A meeting of senior BJP leaders was held here without the local MlA Jayanarayan Mishra raising many eyebrows.
Three stalwart leaders of the party holding senior positions in the organisation Suresh Pujari, Manmohan Samal and Prasanna Mishra got united in a close-door meeting at the Sambalpur Circuit House which continued for almost four hours in the first half of the day. After lunch, they again met at the residence of Pujari at Sakshipara. Pujari was in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday in connection with the Kandhamal riot case. Hence, these leaders could have held the secret meetings at the State capital and not so much of anxieties have been created. Hence, political observers failed to understand their get-together at Sambalpur where the local leaders and Sambalpur MlA in particular were kept away.
At the same time both the camps were also tight lipped on the matter. The political observes asked themselves that as what made these two senior leaders to rush to Sambalpur, the home town of Pujari and what was the extent of urgency. Even another senior leader of the party Sajjan Sharma who was present in Sambalpur could not have smell of the meeting. However, the subject of discussion of the meeting is yet to be known. But the district BJP president, Nauri Naik belonging to the MlA’s camp said that there was nothing to discuss so much about the meeting of the trio. “All these leaders came to attend a meeting of the Sangh Parivar. And they spend some time in personal discussion. Hence, this should not be a media issue,” Naik said. However, Pujari refused to divulge any information.
