The BJP on Sunday urged the Sundergarh district administration to resolve drinking water crisis in the Sundergarh town soon.
The party, in a Press release, blamed both the district administration and the Congress for the water problem persisting in the town.
“Congress MlA and MP have not taken any initiative to resolve the issue in the last five years. Though we have approached the district administration many a times, the latter is yet to pay heed to our demand,” the release alleged and rued that the town is facing the problem even though three rivers, Ib, Ichha and Basundhara, are flowing in along the city.
It further informed that though `50 crore was sanctioned for a project in July 2013 to supply water to Sundargarh town, Patrapali and Talsara area but
the same has remained a non-starter.
The party said it would be forced to resort to agitation if the problem is not addressed early.
