BJP leaders and workers led by former MP Anant Nayak gheraoed the Keonjhar SP office here demanding arrest of all culprits involved in former MlA Bhagirathi Sethy attack case.
While they sat on a dharna till late in the night protesting police inaction, SP Kavita Jalan said stringent action must be taken and informed they were still absconding.
As per the FIR filed by Sethy, Minister Badri Narayan Patra’s fourth son Dev Priya Patra and BJD district youth leader Rakesh Ram attacked him with eight to ten more hoodlums on February 5 night while he was on his way to his residence at Fakirpur under the Anandpur police station.
He was rushed to the local hospital by some neighbours where he was referred to Cuttack in critical condition. Sethy is now undergoing at a private hospital in Cuttack.
A delegation of the BJP had also met DGP KB Singh and apprised him about the incident. last evening was a Party’s general secretary Biraja Mishra, former Keonjhar Sadar Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Kiranbala Naik, senior BJP leaders Dev Jena, Augun Mohanto, youth leader Akash Sahu joined the Tuesday agitation with thousands of party workers. Former BJP State general secretary Murali Sharma said, “In Keonjhar, the local Minister’s anti-social sons are unleashing a reign of Government sponsored Dadagiri’.
