BJP leaders led by State president Basant Panda on Thursday met the State Information Commissioner (SIC) and submitted an application under the Right to Information Act seeking detailed data relating to use of chit fund corpus fund created by the State Government to pay out deposits to small investors.
“Five years have passed since the corpus fund created by the State Government. We want to know whether chit fund investors have been paid from the fund. If they have not been paid, then why,” wanted to know the team.
The leaders alleged the State Government has always provided false data relating to the ponzi scam and betrayed investors. Among others, party vice-president Sameer Mohanty, State secretary Dillip Mallick, spokesperson Dillip Mohanty, Bhubaneswar zilla president Harekrushna Khuntia, State executive member Jagannath Pradhan, Krushak Morcha vice-president Maheshwar Sahu and general secretary Surath Biswal were president.
