As scheduled, the ruling BJD and Opposition BJP would launch their public relation rallies on Gandhi Jayanti on Friday in order to reach out to the people across the State.
The BJP, which would hold satyagraha in all 147 Assembly constituencies, said it would make the people know about the achievements of the NDA Government at the Centre in just one and a half years of its rule and how the Naveen Patnaik Government has been hoodwinking the people for so many years.
"To cover up its failures, the BJD has started beating the drum of Central neglect. Its padayatra against the Centre will never be successful as the BJP would go to the people through satyagraha and make them aware of many pro-people programmes of the Modi Government," said BJP spokesperson Sameer Mohanty.
Similarly, the BJD would hold its Jansampark Yatra from Gandhi Jayanti till October 11, Jayaprakash Narayan's birthday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would formally launch the yatra at Ganganagar Palli here. Party MPs, MlAs and local leaders would lead the yatra at their respective localities in 32 organisational districts of the BJD.
