BJP raps Health Minister for negligence in duty

Published on:

At the working committee meeting of BJP held here on Monday, the party leaders condemned Health Minister Dr Damodar Rout for negligence in duty.

The party activists alleged that even though the Government hospitals at Bhuban, Kamakhyanagar, Hindol and the district headquarters hospital at Dhenkanal are crippled due to inadequate doctors, the Health Minister has shut his eyes to the problem and is devoting most

of his time in organizing BJD meetings to select candidates for the upcoming UlB elections. They said that health care system has gone completely haywire with many hospitals reeling under several problems but the Minister, instead of concentrating on how to solve the problems, is rather busy to ensure that BJD candidates come up with flying colours in the UlB polls.

The working committee meeting was inaugurated by former Revenue Minister Manmohan Samal, while former Higher Education Minister Samir Dey, former RS MP Rudra Pany and former MlA Mohan Majhi spoke. Attending the working committee meeting as member, former MlA Krushna Chandra Patra and former Municipal Chairman Sunil Sharma spoke about lack of water supply, employment to local youths, frequent power cuts and engagement of Enzen to exploit the people. The meeting was presided over by Naresh Chandra Mohapatra. Deepak Prasad Pattnaik, Nabin Dalei, Monica Sharma, Gautam Ghose, Anima Nayak and Ramesh Chandra Samal also spoke.
