The BJP on Wednesday claimed that its workers and leaders have distributed cooked and dry foods and ration items to over four lakh distressed and poor people in the State under the "Feed the needy-PM Anna Yojana" during the coronavirus-related lockdown period.
So far, 6,000 party workers have supplied cooked foods to over 1.20 lakh people and dry foods and rations to over 84,000 poor families in villages under 384 blocks and ULBs across all the 147 Assembly constituencies.
Besides, BJP Mahila Morcha members have made masks and distributed them to 20, 000 people. Family members of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other leaders are also busy making masks on the advice of PM Modi.
Party workers have been advised to ensure that nobody dies due to starvation in their respective areas. Each party worker has been entrusted the charge of feeding six persons daily.
Workers and leaders are also creating awareness among people to maintain social distancing and stay at homes, informed "Feed the needy-PM Anna Yojana" State coordinator Golak Mohapatra.
