The 125th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar was observed by the BJP Aska Road Mandal Committee of Brahmapur on Thursday.
Senior BJP leader Rama Chandra Panda said the Congress during its 60 years of rule grossly neglected fulfilling the wishes of the father of the Indian Constitution in implementing policies like prohibition and uniform civil code. He said the BJP Government at the Centre led by Modi is committed to pursue social inclusion and working hard for inclusive growth in the society by economically empowering the weaker sections.
He urged party workers to take the message of development of the Modi Government to every village. Presiding over the meeting, Rohit Nayak described Dr Ambedkar as an Indian jurist, economist, politician and a great social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination against untouchables.
