All the 10 BJP MlAs of the State would not avail lPG subsidy and buy cooking gas at the market price. The MlAs took this decision in response to Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s recent appeal in this regard. “If financial sound consumers opt out of subsidy, the money can be used for development of the country. Hence, we have decided not to avail the lPG subsidy,” said BJP legislature Party leader Basanta Panda.
BJP State president KV Singh Deo said the party has also urged its leaders not to accept other subsidies provided by the Government. Both Panda and Singh Deo have communicated their decisions to the authorities of Indian Oil Corporation limited (IOCl). Appreciating the leaders’ decision, the IOCl said it would motivate millions of people.
