Ahead of the visit of Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP national campaign committee chief Narendra Modi to the State scheduled on July 16 for darshan of lord Jagannath at Puri, senior State BJP leaders on Wednesday assembled here at a meeting at the State party office to chalk out plans to give him a grand welcome and also to make his visit a success.
The meeting chaired by party State president KV Singh Deo was attended by party national general secretary Dhamendra Pradhan and other senior leaders Biswabhusan Harichandan, Jaynarayan Mishra, Bijay Mohapatra, Manmohan Samal, Mohan Majhi, Nayan Kishore Mohanty and Prasanna Kumar Mishra.
“During the national executive meeting in Goa last month, we had invited him (Modi) to visit Odisha. We are very excited to receive him as this would be his first visit to the State after he became the head of the party’s national campaign committee,” said a senior State party leader.
