Gajapati BJP unit president and former Parala Municipality chairman Tripati Nayak warned to file a PIl against the district administration and the SOUTHCO if they failed to ensure in covering the open transformers located at various places in the city at the earliest.
Despite our repeated appeals and representations to the authorities to cover the open transformers at important locations even at the district headquarters, the administration and SOUTHCO have cast a deaf ear, alleged Nayak.
Notably, maximum transformers in the Gajapati district are in unsafe conditions. As per rules, the transformers should be covered with boundary walls but most transformers are lying open, including in the main road, near R&B, sub registry and Sarva Shiksha Aviyan offices in the headquarters town.
