Of the 103 fresh coronavirus cases detected in the State on Monday, Deogarh district reported the highest number of 22 cases, including three local contacts.
The rest 19 patients, including a woman, were in quarantine. Of them, 16 had returned from Tamil Nadu and three from Andhra Pradesh. While 11 were lodged at a temporary medical camp (TMC) at Sado under Tileibani block, eight were kept in another quarantine centre in Riamal block.
Sources said the three local contacts include a 54-year-old BJP leader of Kansar village, a 38-year-old schoolteacher of Dangapathar village and a 46-year-old ASHA worker of Sado. Both the teacher and the ASHA worker were engaged at Sado TMC. Sources added that a son of the BJP leader, who tested positive, is a Maharashtra returnee and was under home quarantine. Though Swab samples of members of his family members were collected for Covid test, his son tested negative for the virus.
