BJP launches dharna seeking impartial probe

Published on:

BJP members began a 24-hour dharna in front of the Commissionerate police office here on Saturday demanding an impartial probe into the alleged involvement of Ministers and MLAs in the honey-trapper Archana Nag case.

The agitators demanded that Minister Samir Ranjan Dash be brought under the purview of investigations for his alleged involvement in the BJD Zilla Parishad Member Dharmendra Sahu death case.

BJP leader Prithviraj Harichandan said, “The investigations in both cases have been sabotaged thanks to the nexus between ruling party leaders and police. Dharmendra Sahu’s case is a clear instance of pre-planned murder.  Unfortunately, the Minister (Dash) is involved in it and much evidence in this regard is doing the rounds. Police have literally failed to ascertain his role in the conspiracy. All we want police to do is unbiased investigations in both cases,” he said.

The BJP members also threatened to gherao the Naveen Niwas if police fail to initiate an investigation against the ‘tainted’ Ministers in both cases in the next 48 hours.
