BJP jibes against ex-FM Sinha unfair: FPI

Published on:

The jibes against former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha by the top BJP leadership for his adverse remarks on the present state of Indian economy are uncalled-for, said the Freethought Party of India (FPI).

FPI general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire decried that Sinha was discarded for being over 80 years old, saying that in politics a leader may be old but not brain-dead.  He said that many leaders world over like in US, UK and France etc were excellent performers even when they were over 70 years old and urged the PM and FM to revise their policy that anybody who is above 75 years of age is unfit to be in politics.

The stature of PM Modi will certainly go up if he cares to give importance to his critics, whether he is former PM Dr Monmohan Singh, former Union Minister Arun Shourie or the former Union Minister Sinha.

No critic should be sarcastically written off as intolerant of the present dispensation, angry for being sidelined or intellectually weak. PM Modi has not enhanced his reputation when he chose to offend Dr Monmohan Singh in course of his Rajya Sabha speech that Dr Singh had the knack of taking bath with a raincoat, when Modi could not stomach the criticism against his demonetization, said the FPI general secretary.

The “official leader” of the BJP who happens to be the Prime Minister of the country must try his best to carry all the sections of his party with him. The good of Indian democracy is surely dependent upon the statesmanship of the Prime Minister, said Voltaire.
