The seven-day Jagannath Sanskruti Suraksha Yatra, which was being held by the BJP to make people aware about the State Government’s alleged failure to conduct secret Shreemandir rituals, would be culminated on Monday.

Party source said the yatra would be concluded at Gadakantunia village on the outskirts of the city from where lord Sudarshan’s daru had been identified and taken to Puri.

The party started its first day of the yatra’s last phase on Sunday morning from the Jagannath temple at Jagamara in the city. As per the schedule, the yatra ended at Nayagarh by touching Bharatpur, Chandaka, Pitapalli, Khordha, Ranapur, Bolagada, Sunakhala and Itamati.

Party leaders like Bijay Mohapatra, Biswabhushan Harichandan and Giridhar Gamang, Bhubaneswar district president Amiya Das led the yatra team in the city. Jitu Mitra and Khordha district president Sudipta Ray led the team in Khordha while party’s State president KV Singh Deo and Surama Padhi conducted a public meeting after leading the team in the town.

“We will make people aware of the gross apathy of the State Government which led to the inordinate delay and gross irregularities in the Brahma Parivartan of the deities,” said Singh Deo.
