The BJP observed the National Unity Day on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti here on Monday.
Inaugurating the programme, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said though Sardar Patel had incomparably contributed to unite the country, he did not get adequate honour.
The persons who have struggled for our country would be rewarded soon, he added.
“We would also celebrate the Sepoy Mutiny in Odisha in 2017,” said Pradhan.
The role Harekrushna Mahatab in building nations was very important, he added.
The Neheru Yuva Kendra also organised a Run for Unity from Master Canteen Square to the auditorium. More than a hundred youths were present.
Neheru Yuva Kendra State coordinator Praveer Pradhan and Pritish Acharya were present, among others.
