The BJP held a demonstration at different places of Nuapada district on Monday to protest against the Government’s apathy towards farmers.
The Khariar NAC office was gheraoed by town wing of the party headed by town president Bikash Singhal. District vice president Pruthiraj Mahanti held the BJD and CM Naveen Patnaik responsible for increase in corruption in the State. Party members expressed resentment on failure of the NAC to maintain cleanliness in the town. They also raised questions on efficiency of the officials to address the problems of the people.
The revenue office at larka village of Boden block and the Panchayat Samiti office of Sinapali were also gheraoed. The agitators demanded thorough inquiry into the drought situation and early payment of input subsidy and insurance. Sanjay Tiwari and Atindra Mallik and other members were present at larka.
