Hailing the Central Government’s decision to make Paradip a Smart City and build the Paradip Port as a major international port, the BJP State Unit on Tuesday expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this. Notably, the Centre has decided to build a Smart City each at the 12 Major Ports in the country including Paradip at a cost of Rs 50,000 crore. Works for the project will take off next month. Sources said biogas and solar power supply system will be provided to make the port of international-level and the city pollution-free, said BJP State vice-president Pratap Sarangi.
