Hundreds of BJP members of Tangi block of the Khordha Assembly constituency under leadership of local leader Kalu Khandayat Ray gheraoed the block office protesting against corruption, misappropriation of Government funds and the Percentage Commission (PC) system during the BJD rule.
Ray alleged that the Government work orders are issued only to BJD workers and no work is getting done without paying PC. He said the block office has become a hub of corruption.
The BJP workers also informed people about the major schemes rolled out by the Centre Government and how the State is creating hurdles in implementation of these schemes.
Ray also threatened that the BJP would not let the block office be used as the party office of the BJD. Among others, BJP State in-charge Urmila Mahapatra, former MLA Jitu Mitra, Rashmi Ranjan Mahapatra, senior leader Krushna Jagadev and Krushka Morcha State secretary Ranjan Mangaraj were present.
