The Goshani Nuagaon unit of the BJP gheraoed the PHD office here in protest against the persistent drinking water problem in the locality.
Party activists moved in a rally from the Uttarshwar Temple to the PHD office through Bijipur, Tatabenj and Kamapalli chhack. They staged a dharna in front of the office for a long time before gheraoing it. The leaders alleged that the BJD Government has failed to provide drinking water and other basic amenities even after remaining in power for the last 18 years.

Among others, BJP district president Kahnu Charan Pati, Corporator Dr Namita Rani Panda, senior leader Sisir Pani, district vice-president Sunil Kumar Sahu, Prabhat Sarangi, Prabeer Patra, Rabindra Sahu, Gopinath Panda, Kamana Padhee, Prajna Paramita Padhi, D Anil Rao and Prafulla Panigrahi were present.
